What We Do

We have two basic, fully engineered systems offering flexibility with the highest recovery rates at the lowest capital and operating cost. Liquid Recovery
 

Natural gas contains lighter and heavier hydrocarbons that mixed together in gas stream. Mixed gas need to separate before using in their applications for enhancing quality and getting more potential profits. Heavier hydrocarbons can be separated and can be sold in a good price as same as crude oil. The separated liquids can be used as raw material for refineries, feed stock for chemical process plants, or even as a fuel for boilers and gas turbines. In the same way, the separation can be reduced a gas stream's BTU value to meet pipeline specifications to use as fuel in power plant.

Our Solution
 

OSA provides two systems between Refrigerated Lean Oil System (RLOS) and Refrigeration System to use as gas separator. We offer Refrigeration System for inlet gas that coming with high pressure, low moisture and low CO2. On the other hand, Refrigerated Lean Oil System can be used with inlet gas under conditions; low pressure, high moisture and high CO2.

Power Generation
 

Natural gas is often used for power generation. Produced natural gas is too rich in heavier hydrocarbons to be used effectively as a fuel for internal combustion engines. The heavier hydrocarbon components, propane, butane and heavier will cause excessive carbon deposits and foul engine fuel injection systems, cylinders, etc. Typically natural gas is very high in heating value and low in methane number. Excessively high BTU or pentanes+ fuel gases may void your engine warranty or restrict rentals of natural gas driven equipment, i.e. compressors, generators, etc.

Refrigerated lean oil absorption system is the best choice for cleaning natural gas before using in gas engines of power generation. We offer the latest process technology to obtain the highest recovery rates of Propane and heavier hydrocarbon liquids (95-99%). The system utilizes a refrigerated lean oil absorber, de-ethanizer and stripper column that offers most cost effective high recovery rates with maximum variability of flow rates, especially at low or no pressure.

Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU)
 

Hydrocarbon vapors at storage and loading terminals emissions to the atmosphere cause pollution of the air. Governmental agencies have mandated the control of these emissions. These emissions can be controlled by destruction (incineration) or by recovery.

Our Solution
 

Refrigerated Lean Oil System is the best choice for the recovery of hydrocarbon vapors. Hydrocarbon vapors recovery in a Refrigerated Lean Oil System consists of the vapor/air mixture entering the bottom of a packed tower, counter-flowing upward, impinging on absorbent wetted packing. A chilled absorbent fluid enters the top of the tower and begins a downward flow wetting the packing. The air exits the top of the tower stripped of the hydrocarbon vapors. The vapors, captured by the absorbent fluid, exit the bottom of the tower.

Our lean oil VRU system offers a vapor recovery unit (VRU) that can simultaneously assure you of volatile organic compound (VOC) discharge compliance, high rates of condensate recovery, operational flexibility and tolerance and extremely favourable investment payback. It uses a mineral spirit to effectively absorb the organics or VOC in the vent or discharge gas. It is a proven technique and we have over 90 MMSFCD (millions of SCFD) installed worldwide. We also installed the single largest VRU system in the world for Chevron rated at 44 MMSFCD.

Application

Our lean oil VRUs can be used in any petrochemical application where discharge of VOC need to be controlled with maximum return of valuable condensates. Our lean oil VRUs are frequently found at refineries, fuel farms and at marine/rail/truck loading depots.

Design Principle

Typical lean oil VRUs consist primarily of cold and hot sections. The cold section is where the VOC is captured by the lean oil in a counter flow mass exchange scrubber. The hot section is where the lean oil is regenerated by a distillation tower and recycled for continuous use. The key is the thermal control between the two sections.

  • Cold section primarily consists of a scrubber, interchangers and chillers, lean and rich oil pumps, and control valves and transmitters.
  • Hot section primarily consists of a distillation tower, heaters, reflux system, chillers, condensate pumps, and control valves and transmitters.
